I live in Charleston and take this seriously. I made a really awesome Vegetable Stock last night and wanted to use it.

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 cVegetable Stock (Homemade)
  2. 1/2 cWhite Grits
  3. 2 cShrimp
  4. 2 TbspButter
  5. 1/2 cHeavy Cream
  6. 1/2 cHavarti Cheese
  7. Salt
  8. Pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Bring Veg stock to boil; introduce your grits and stir rapidly. I use Lakeside Stone Ground White

  2. 2

    Cover and reduce to med low / low for 10-12 mins stir occasionally

  3. 3

    Pat shrimp dry. Salt and pepper them. Saute Shrimp on high heat. I use grapeseed oil. Add some butter after you flip them.

    Cube havarti cheese and toss into grits. Add heavy cream and butter.

  5. 5

    Pour grits and add shrimp. This was a quick but full of flavor and richness was insane.
