Green Beans in Spicy Coconut Milk (Filipino Gising-Gising)

"Gising" in English means "Wake up". This dish will certainly wake you up with its spicy coconut sauce and chilies. It's usually made with pork mince but I went for the healthier option, ground beef.
Recommended for chili lovers. ;)

Ingredients

30 minutes
1-2 servings
  1. 1/8k ground beef (or pork)
  2. 1 bunchgreen beans, cut in 1/2in slices
  3. 1/4small red onion, chopped
  4. 1 clovegarlic, minced
  5. 1 tspmargarine or butter
  6. 1long green chili (add more for spicier), chopped
  7. 2red bird's eye chilies (add more for spicier), chopped
  8. 1/8 ccoconut milk
  9. 2 pinchesbeef broth powder
  10. to tasteSalt & pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Sauté onion and garlic in margarine.

    Sauté in green chilies. Then add the ground meat. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Add the coconut milk powder dissolved in water. Since I'm not using a lot, I opted to use the powder kind.

    Add the green beans. Season with pinches of beef broth powder, s &p. Mix and let it simmer until green beans are cooked.

    Add the red chilies for more heat. Sauté to mix in.

    Serve with steamed rice. :) and a beer.
