Ingredients

4-8 slow cook
6 servings
  1. 1 1/4 cuplentil beans
  2. 1.5 poundleft over bone in ham or less to like
  3. 5 pieceshickory thick bacon
  4. 3carrots
  5. 3red potatoes
  6. 3celery sticks
  7. 1red tomato
  8. 1/4white onion
  9. 1 clovegarlic
  10. 2 tsppepper
  11. 1 tspsalt
  12. 2 leavesepazote herb
  13. 2-3 cupswater
  14. Crock pot 6-8 quart oval

Cooking Instructions

    Start by placing lentil beans in a bowl. Soak in water for 1 hour or until you see water absorbed.

    Cut potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, garlic. Place in crock pot.

  3. 3

    Rinse lentil beans and set on top of vegetables.

  4. 4

    Pour in water into crock pot to cover ingredients. Add water to be about 1/4 inch above lentil.

    Place bacon, then place cut up ham. Then add salt, and pepper, last add epazote. Cover and set time on crock pot for 4-8 hours. I usually cook overnight and in the morning it smells amazing.
