Ingredients

  1. 1 Cupdried red chili peppers (Chile Japones)
  2. 10-12large tomatillos
  3. 1large Roma tomato
  4. 3garlic cloves
  5. 1 tablespoonsalt (salt to taste)
  6. 1 cupstew water

Cooking Instructions

    Bring a large enough pot of water to stew all the tomatillos and tomato to a boil

  2. 2

    Stew the tomato and tomatillos until the skin is slightly peeled or begins to split

  3. 3

    Remove the tomato and tomatillos from the water and cool until safe to handle

  4. 4

    Set aside one cup of stew water

  5. 5

    Cut off the stem end of the tomato and tomatillos.

  6. 6

    Add the stewed tomato and tomatillos to the blender

  7. 7

    Add garlic, salt, and dried peppers to the blender

  8. 8

    Add one cup of stew water to the blender and blend thoroughly.

  9. 9
