Twinkie Dessert (Mum’s)
Another delicious dessert recipe from my Mum! No bake and fast to make. It’s best to make this the night before. (I pulled a picture off the Internet but will update the picture when I make it again of my own!)
Cooking Instructions
- 1
** This recipe fits in the baking dish under the 13x9 size. I think it’s the 11x7. You’ll have some twinkies leftover, but you can always double this recipe and make it in a 13x9 glass baking dish. *****
- 2
Split your twinkies, and lay cream side up. If you need to, cut twinkies to fit when you reach the last row. (I lay mine like in the first picture, but lay them however you prefer.)
- 3
Mix together with a hand mixer: cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and cool whip. Set aside when done.
- 4
Spoon strawberries and their juices over all of twinkies.
- 5
Slice bananas and lay them on top of strawberries. (This picture I just pulled off the Internet to show how to lay the bananas.)
- 6
Dump the cool whip mixture on top and spread evenly. Spread carefully as to not pull up the fruit. (Just another picture I pulled off the Internet.)
- 7
Put in the refrigerator and let it stay in there overnight for everything to blend and marry together. Enjoy!

Fruit Cocktail Dessert Fruit Cocktail Dessert
Back in the day when I was studying in Da Nang, I used to eat this a lot. After school, I would head straight to the shop for a 2k fruit dessert. Today, I found some leftover homegrown jackfruit in the fridge, some off-season strawberries freshly picked in Da Lat, newly bought candied gooseberries, and a packet of agar powder. So, I decided to make this dish again. It's been over 20 years already. Hoàng NgọcTranslated from Cookpad Vietnam -

Cherry Rhubarb Cream Cheese Shortbread Dessert Bars Cherry Rhubarb Cream Cheese Shortbread Dessert Bars
This was a "Homemade Rhubarb Bar" recipe from BromaBakery.com that recommends to "Use room temperature ingredients — When making the cream cheese shortbread base, you need to let the butter and cream cheese come to room temperature before creaming them together. This will make the shortbread crust easier to mix and will give it a much better texture." And to "Chill the rhubarb bars — Just like lemon bars, these rhubarb bars need to cool completely in the fridge before you can cut into them. These bars need time to set properly, sorry to make you wait!" I used home grown fresh rhubarb stalks from our own backyard that I personally picked myself. I also added cherries and brown sugar to make the recipe "my own" a little bit. #onerecipeonetree #rhubarb #dessert #rhubarbdessert #dessertbars Chef Mommy Nessa
