Ingredients

1 hour
1 cup
  1. 1 (14 oz.)can condensed milk
  2. Pinchkosher salt

Cooking Instructions

1 hour
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 425º

  2. 2

Pour the condensed milk into a small glass baking pan

  3. 3

Place the pan in a slightly larger pan

  4. 4

Pour water in the 2nd pan so it is halfway up the side of the small pan, creating a bain-marie.

  5. 5

Place both on a half-sheet baking pan. This will help you avoid any steam from the bain-marie when you remove the pan from the oven.

  6. 6

Cover the small pan with a sheet of foil.

  7. 7

Place the pan in the oven, whisking every 20 minutes. Add water to the bain-marie as needed.

  8. 8

Remove once the milk has thickened and turned caramel brown.

  9. 9

Using a spatula, scrape the sides of the small baking dish, then whisk into the dulce.

  10. 10

Refrigerate the remainder in the fridge. The remainder is what's left after you gobble down a few tablespoons for quality control.

  11. 11

    Warm to serve.
