Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a pan cook the minced mushroom and garlic in light olive oil for about three minutes until they start to brown. Also, start slicing your onion, avocado and lettuce so its ready when the burgers done. Remove from pan and add to large mixing bowl with turkey, bread crumbs and Worcestershire.
- 2
Mix everything and create 4 patties that are about 1 inch thick. Make sure they are flat on each side to cook evenly. Heat frying pan to med-high heat with some light olive oil in it.
- 3
Add the burgers to the pan, I like to do 2 at a time to not crowd the pan. Cook for 4-5 minutes each side. If the burger is starting to burn or cooking too fast, turn down the heat a little bit and move some of the oil around in the pan.
- 4
After you flip the burger wait 2 minutes then add the cheese. This will allow the cheese plenty of time to melt while the burger finishes cooking. This is a good time to create your burger sauce. (See chipotle burger sauce in recipe list)
- 5
Prepare your burgers buns (toast in the oven if you wanna get fancy haha) add some burger sauce to the top and bottom buns then start building the burger. Burger, onion, lettuce and avocado.
- 6
I like to have air fried potatoes and a salad with this burger! I also added some chipotle tabasco to the burger in the picture because I wanted it to be spicier! Enjoy!

Trojan-Horse Almost-Turkey Burgers Trojan-Horse Almost-Turkey Burgers
Why trojan horse? Well i got the idea from an interview on Sporkful=to wrap a beef burger in a turkey burger. It's genius! The turkey needs to be cooked all the way through, so turkey burgers are always dry. But here we can have juicy, medium done beef in the middle. As an added bonus i put a couple chunks of cheddar in the middle. What you come out with is a ridiculously juicy burger with a lot of flavors going on, that work very well together. Give it a try!
