Batate Bhaat - Aloo ki Tahari
A North Indian one pot meal
Steps

Wash and soak rice

Peel and cut potatoes into cube shaped pieces

Cut onion into slices
- 4
Heat oil and fry onion pieces till onion turns golden brown. Remove onion and allow it to cool

Fry potato pieces and remove

Add coriander powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste to the pan and cook for few minutes.

Drain rice and add to the contents in the pan.

Add potatoes

Add hot water to the pan to about 1 inch above contents.

Add salt and bring the contents to a boil.

Cover the contents and allow it to cook on slow fire for about 10 minutes

When ready, mould the rice.

Garnish with fried onion, few pieces of potatoes, fried cashews, coriander leaves and piece of lemon and serve.
