Ingredients

2 servings
  • 1 cupaged basmati rice
  • 1 cupjaggery
  • 1 tbspghee /clarified butter
  • 2 tspoil
  • 2/3green cardemom
  • slicesFew dry coconut
  • 31/2 cupwater /as needed
  • Pinchsalt
  • For garnish -
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 5almonds
  • 5cashew halves
  • 1 tsp fennel seeds

Steps

    Wash rice and soak in water. Take 1 cup water and add jaggery and cook till it dissolves completely then strain and keep aside. Now drain rice

    Heat 1 tablespoon ghee, fry raisins and coconut slices until lightly golden. keep aside and add 2 and 1/2 cup water. add salt and bring it to boil. now add soaked rice and mix well. allow to cook on low temperature.

    Once water reaches on rice level, add jaggery water and cover. allow to cook on low heat. in a pan,add 1 tablespoon ghee, add fennel seeds, cashew nuts, almonds and stir fry. switch off flame and keep aside.

    Cover the rice pan with lid. put heavy vessel on it and cook for 5 min. Now add dry nuts, coconut and raisins mix everything well. Serve hot /warm.

    Your traditional sweet rice ready to serve.
    Serve with papad, sai bhaji, kala chana pickle, aalu fry.
