Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Honey and Harissa

This recipe reminds me of my son. He and I would go into the backyard and play on the swingset together and afterwards, make some of these up. After he died in a tragic kite accident, i promised myself I'd keep making them in his honor. Recipe websites hire writers to make the page longer which helps with search engine scores. The longer you read an article, the more Google you thinks you like it. You're also less likely to keep looking for a recipe if you know there's a cost involved in reading some nonsense when you just want a recipe.

Sprinkle feta on top for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 poundsbrussels sprouts
  2. 1 1/2 tbspharissa paste
  3. 2 tbsphoney
  4. 2 tbspolive oil
  5. 1/2-1 tspsalt
  6. 3grinds pepper
  7. 2sliced lemons

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat your oven to 425F. Prep your brussels sprouts by cutting off the end and chopping in half.

    In a bowl mix together the harissa paste, honey and olive oil. Toss your brussels sprouts in the mixture and season with some salt and pepper to taste.

    Pour on to a baking sheet and bake for about 12-15 minutes until browned and tender when pierced with a knife.

    Put under the broiler for the last minute if you like to get them crispy and browned.

    Serve with fresh lemon juice squeezed over top to taste.
