French toast is a simple yet elegant snack you can try. It's easy to prepare with convenient ingredients.
● Two keys to French toast: soak up the egg and milk mixture, and pan-fry in butter until golden brown.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
● Choose bread that's easy to buy. I could only get this one late at night, haha.
● Use your preferred brand of milk.
● Wash the eggs after taking them out of the fridge.
● For the butter, divide the toast into three batches and use 1 tablespoon (10 grams) each time in a 28-inch skillet. - 2
● Fresh strawberries are seasonal and may have pesticide residues, so frozen strawberries are a safer choice. Order online and pick up at a convenience store, then keep them frozen. When needed, just pour a bowl to enjoy as fruit.
● I love the tartness of kiwis. If you prefer less tart, go for golden kiwis.
● Fancy kiwi cutting method:
Wash the kiwi, cut off both ends, and peel. If you're right-handed, hold the kiwi in your left hand and a small knife in your right. Score a zigzag pattern around the middle, as shown in the photo, making about 20-22 cuts per kiwi.● Take the frozen strawberries out of the freezer just before serving. Use a clean spoon to take the desired amount, and seal the rest back in the freezer. Frozen berries are a great invention, but handle them with care to preserve their quality.
- 3
● When baking with eggs, crack them first to avoid bad ones.
● For 6 slices of French toast, use a ratio of 1 cup milk (240 ml) to 2 eggs.
● Beat the eggs, then mix in the milk to create the egg and milk bath for the French toast. - 4
● Cut each slice of bread into 4 pieces. Plan your plating in advance to ensure you have the right amount of ingredients and choose the right plate.
● Use a plate with a curved edge for a nice presentation. - 5
● Key to French toast 1: Let the bread soak up the egg and milk mixture.
● Pour the egg and milk mixture into a clean baking dish and soak the bread for at least 10 minutes until it looks white and bubbly, then it's ready to fry. - 6
● In a skillet over low heat, add 1 tablespoon (10 grams) of butter and spread it evenly with a paper towel for a nice fry.
● Key to French toast 2: Fry until golden brown.
Place the soaked bread slices evenly in the skillet and fry for 2 minutes.
● After 2 minutes, flip each slice with a spatula and fry for another minute. This will give you beautifully crispy on the outside, soft on the inside French toast. - 7
Haha, I'm still searching for the right lighting.
I haven't found the perfect look yet.
It always feels like something's missing. - 8
Haha, convincing myself it tastes good is more important.
