A steaming hot momo with a spicy sauce is simply irresistible. Try this new variation to these beauties..a healthy Spinach-Veggie and a sinful Oreo delight!

Ingredients

  1. For Oreo momos:
  2. 100 gmsall purpose flour
  3. 1tspn salt
  4. 1 tbspnoil for kneading the dough
  5. Approximately 20 gms oreo creme biscuit shells powdered/crushed
  6. 1tspn chocolate syrup for serving
  7. Oil for deep frying
  8. as neededWater
  9. For the spinach-veggie momos:
  10. 100 gmsall purpose flour
  11. 20 gmsspinach puréed thick (very little water used)
  12. 1tbsn oil
  13. 2tspn salt
  14. 50 gmschopped cabbage & grated carrots combined
  15. as neededWater
  16. 1 tbspnbutter unsalted
  17. 1tbsn crushed black pepper powder
  18. 1tbn black soy sauce
  19. 1tspn any regular vinegar
  20. Hot momo sauce for serving

Cooking Instructions

    For Oreo momos:

    Combine the flour, salt and oil and mix well

  3. 3

    Knead a soft but firm dough using very less water

  4. 4

    Scoop out about 2 gms of dough and flatten/roll out the dough in circular shapes

  5. 5

    Spoon Oreo powdered in the center of the rolled dough and seal the edges by shaping them as desired

  6. 6

    Deep fry them in a wok till they are slightly brown and crisp.

    Strain excess oil by placing them on a kitchen tissue

  8. 8

    Serve warm with a spoonful of chocolate syrup on top of each

    For the spinach- veggie momos:

    Sauté the cabbage and carrots by melting butter on Low heat

  11. 11

    After they wilt a bit, add the pepper powder, soy sauce, vinegar and 1 tspn salt

  12. 12

    Mix and take off heat and allow the mix to cool

  13. 13

    In a bowl, combine the flour, salt and 1 tbsn oil. Mix well

  14. 14

    Knead a soft dough using the spinach purée and if needed, very little water

  15. 15

    Roll out the dough in batches for adding the momo stuffing

  16. 16

    Place a spoonful of the veggie mix in the center and seal the edges giving the momos the desired shape

  17. 17

    Place the momos in a bamboo steamer/any pot used for steaming generally and cover well

  18. 18

    Steam for 15 minutes minimum and leave it to cool covered for 5 minutes before you serve

  19. 19

    Serve the healthy veggie momos with the regular spicy sauce or any dips of your choice and enjoy while they are warm!
