Instant Pot Shrimp boil

Shrimp boil is my favorite dish. I make this in many different ways , this is my cheap and easy way and great for the winter. For this recipe I get all my ingredients from ALDI expect the old bay and frozen corn on the cob, and lemons .This is a family recipe but I have changed it to be a smaller and cheaper dish, our traditional recipe calls for an outdoor turkey fryer, in a very large amount. However you can make this on a stove top, or and instant pot, or an indoor turkey fryer , I have made this in all these ways and they are all great. This recipe here is for an instant pot, but can be made on stove top or in an indoor turkey fryer.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash and cut red potatoes. Cut in half
- 2
Add water to instant pot about half way then add all of the old bay seasoning and stir
- 3
Add the potatoes and all the corn on the cob, to the instant pot
- 4
Cut onion add to instant pot
- 5
Cut lemons in half and over instant pot squeeze in the lemon juice then add the lemons to instant pot.
- 6
Then add a splash or a dash of hot sauce
- 7
Add the cut sausage
- 8
At this point make sure everything is covered with the water and make sure your not past your marks in the instant pot you may need to add water or take some out it all depends on how many potatoes and corn you use(skip this step if using a pot on the stove) I was over my line as you can see I had to pour some out.
- 9
Cook on steam setting for 12 mins. Then release pressure... add in the frozen uncooked shrimp make sure they are all covered with the water put lid on and let sit for about 3-5 mins till shrimp is done no need to put back under pressure this is how you don’t over cook your shrimp.(steps if using stove bring to a boil after potatoes and corn is done add shrimp, when shrimp is done remove from water immediately to keep the shrimp from over cooking)
- 10
Once shrimp is done remove from water immediately with a colander.
- 11
Can skip ice step : Traditional way is to clean out your sink and have bag of ice in the sink to cool off the shrimp boil.when after you drain it to keep the shrimp from cooking more (can use a cooler as well) this step can be skip I skip it all the time and just pour the shrimp boil on to a big cookie sheet after u drained all the water off, or I have put down news paper on a table and just put it on that. Most of the time I do the cookie sheet and we eat right off of that.
- 12
What the shrimp should look like when done (this can get over cooked fast)
- 13
Note- when adding the shrimp as you see I moved some of the corn up top to get the shrimp all the way under the water you can take some of the corn out or potatoes if needed. Stir a few times and check on shrimp a few times this takes 3-5 mins if that.

Shrimp Boil Shrimp Boil
We have a great restaurant here in town that serves delicious shrimp and crab boil like you'd find in the south. However, they don't do it with potatoes, corn and sausage. So I figured why not try and make it. I don't know why I've never done it before. iricarodriguez -
Sheet pan shrimp boil Sheet pan shrimp boil
This year for Christmas I wanted to do something completely different, just tired of the same thing over Thanksgiving foods that take forever to cook and left with tons of leftovers I don’t know what to do with. I wanted more time with my family enjoying Christmas and less clean up and food I know my family will actually freaking eat.I grow up with the traditional Christmas dinner and Thanksgiving dinners , and I feel bad for breaking it as I have always done the tradition meals with my family ,after talking to all of my household family we took a vote , shrimp boil and steaks won two things everyone loves in my house but only get a few times a year . So with it being 🥶to do a real shrimp boil I came across this one for the oven. Heres to new Family Traditions . ( can be made any time of the year, I just like to do backstories on my recipes, gives them more meaning.) I must say from asking for ideas from my favorite recipe group I didn’t feel bad anymore, turns out a lot of people do this and even keep it more simple with just finger foods they can snack on all day, don’t be scared to step out of the box lol 😂 not to mention iam actually saving more money.... 🌈NinjaMommaKitchen🌈 -
Instant Pot New England Boil Instant Pot New England Boil
This recipe was given to me by my dear friend Terry Selman. She uses Eckrick sausages, but you can use corn beef, or any other meat you prefer. I serve the bowl on a plate, so I can put Grey Poupon mustard there to dip the sausage in! Yum! I don’t eat bread, but bread and real butter would be amazing!! Mary Crissman Hudnall -

Instant Pot Curry Instant Pot Curry
This has been my go-to meal prep during quarantine. It’s healthy and makes a lot of food. I have the Instant Pot Ultra which allows me to sous vide the chicken, instructions for which I have included here. If your instant pot does not have the “Ultra” mode, you can of course cook the chicken any way you want; or you can leave it out and make this a veggie curry! But I would not recommend pressure cooking the chicken in the pot with the rest of the vegetables. Liam Hausmann -
