Paneer Steak With Burnt Garlic Herbed Rice is basically a restaurant style dish. Nowadays, we can see a new revolution in the menus of many new age restaurants. Quite a lot of new dishes can be seen on their menus.

One such dish is steak, then be it chicken or cottage cheese. Either grilled veggies are served by the side or at times even some buttered herbed rice is served alongside! The dish I have presented here is on the same lines, where I have added a delicious sauce made with roasted red bell peppers and cashewnuts. The sauce is extremely flavourful and ups the taste level of the entire dish!

I have added here as much veggies as I can, as it increases the health quotient of the dish! And the main thing over here is that, these dishes are sold at such high prices in restaurants, but preparing this dish at home has costed me almost less than half the cost I would be paying for four! All this inspite of the cost of these ingredients being on the higher side! So go ahead and surely give this dish a try at least once, and I assure you that you won’t be dissapointed!

A small tip, the marinade prepared here is so delicious in itself, that it can be used to make grill sandwiches and can be used with fish or chicken too to make non vegetarian steaks!

Cooking Instructions

45 min
  1. 1

To make this delicious Paneer Steak With Burnt Garlic Herbed Rice, first we need to make the marinade for Paneer.

  2. 2

For that, grind together the coriander, basil, parsley and mint leaves, garlic, jalapeno, roasted almonds, roasted cumin powder, olive oil, lemon juice and salt to taste to get a smooth paste.

  3. 3

Marinate the paneer in this paste, ensuring to cover all sides with the marinade. Set aside till further use.

  4. 4

The next step would be preparing the sauce and cooking the rice.

  5. 5

Heat 2 2/3 cups of water in a pan and add little salt to it.

  6. 6

When it reaches a boiling point, add to it the washed and drained basmati rice.

  7. 7

Stir and allow it to reach a boiling point again. At this stage reduce the heat to low, and cover and cook without stirring till the rice is fully cooked. Swtich off the flame and set aside.

  8. 8

Next, to make the bell pepper sauce, peel off the blackened outer layer of the red bell peppers and discard it’s seeds.

  9. 9

Grind it alongwith all the other mentioned ingredients for the sauce to get a smooth paste. Set aside till further use.

  10. 10

To prepare the main dish, we need first to prepare the Herbed rice. For that, heat a pan and add the olive oil and butter to it.

  11. 11

Add the chopped garlic and saute, immediately add the zucchini slices and saute further on medium to high heat.

  12. 12

Add the sliced baby corn and the jalapeno peppers and saute further

  13. 13

Next, add the sweet corn kernels and saute till all the veggies are slightly browned. Add the chopped celery, parsley, black pepper powder and mix well.

  14. 14

Add the rice and salt to taste and give it a good toss. Cover and set aside till further use.

  15. 15

Next, heat another pan for sauteeing the veggies and add olive oil and butter to it.

  16. 16

Add the chopped garlic and saute. Immediately add the sliced zucchini and baby corns and saute further on high heat for a few minutes.

  17. 17

Add in all the other diced veggies as well as the sweet corn kernels and keep sauteeing on high heat.

  18. 18

When the veggies are slightly charred add salt to taste and mix. Switch off the flame and set aside.

  19. 19

For the paneer steak, heat a grill pan and add some olive oil and butter to it.

  20. 20

Mix the flour and breadcrumbs in a dish and coat the paneer slices with the mixture and set aside.

  21. 21

Place each marinated paneer slice on it and grill on both sides till it turns crispy.

  22. 22

To assemble the main dish, first place a portion of the burnt garlic herbed rice on one side, and the paneer steaks on the other.

  23. 23

Serve some sauteed veggies on the sides surrounded by a serving of the delicious roasted red bell peppers sauce!
