I absolutely love a grilled sandwich, thanks to it's golden and crisp exterior. Though generally, people apply oil or butter on their bread before grilling. That's not the case with me.I always replace butter/oil, with mayonnaise and that's what gives my sandwich a beautiful, golden and crisp exterior. Mayonnaise already has fat(oil) in it, and has a higher smoke point. This is what makes the bread crisp up more. So next time you are making a sandwich, apply some mayonnaise outside the bread(and not just inside) for the perfect golden crust.
Try it out and let me know!
