Besan ka halwa is very nourishing when temperature falls as it gives energy due to besan and ghee. Generous sprinkling of dry fruits and nuts makes besan ka halwa a rich and sumptuous treat. I have opted to flavor the halwa with dessicated coconut powder.

Ingredients

20 minutes

  1. 3/4 bowlbesan
  2. 2 tbsp.semolina
  3. 1/2 bowl+ 1 tbsp pure ghee
  4. 3/4 bowlsugar
  5. 10-12almonds
  6. 8-10cashew nuts
  7. 8-10pistachios
  8. 2 tbsp magaj
  9. 2 tbspdesiccated coconut powder
  10. 4Green cardamoms
  11. 2 bowlswater

Cooking Instructions

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Measure all ingredients and keep ready.

    Heat ghee in a wok. Add besan and roast it on low flame and stir continuously for 2 minutes.

    Now add semolina and 1 tb spoon ghee and again roast on low flame till it turns golden brown and an aroma starts coming up. At this stage, ghee will start leaving the sides of the wok.

    Add sugar and mix. Add all dry fruits and mix well and roast for 2 minutes and continue stirring.

    Add water slowly. First, add 1 bowl while stirring. Then add another bowl and stir it till it will become thick and all water is absorbed.

    Keep stirring till ghee starts leaving sides of the wok. Switch off the flame then.

    Serve hot with milk.
