Ingredients

2 people
  1. 1 kgflour
  2. 10 gInstant dry yeast
  3. 100 gmelted butter
  4. 1tspn salt
  5. 4 tbspsugar
  6. Warm water
  7. 2 tbspbaking powder
  8. 5 tbspcooking oil
  9. 2 stalksgrated carrot

Cooking Instructions

    In a bowl add all dry ingredients & mix well with a wooden spoon or whisker

    Add grated carrots & mix

  3. 3

    Add your oil, butter & warm water. Then mix well with a wooden spoon

  4. 4

    Then knead until it all comes together. Put in a bowl, cover with a clean kitchen cloth. Let it rest in a warm place for an hour. Knead again after it has risen & leave it for another 30 mins

    Remember dombolo is different from steamed bread (ujeqe) by cooking it with your curry. Here I made beef curry. Section your dough as if you’re making amagwina then drop them in your curry pot. Curry must be half way cooked. Cook for 45mins +. 😊 enjoy
