Ingredients

  1. Cake
  2. 1 cupchopped pecans or walnuts
  3. 18 1/2 ozyellow cake mix
  4. 1 3/4 ozinstant vanilla pudding mix
  5. 4eggs
  6. 1/2 cupcold water
  7. 1/2 cupvegetable oil
  8. 1/2 cupdark rum
  9. Glaze
  10. 1/2 cupbutter
  11. 1/4 cupwater
  12. 1 cupsugar
  13. 1/2 cupdark rum

Cooking Instructions

    Preheat oven to 325℉

    Grease and flour angel food cake pan.

    Sprinkle nuts in bottom of pan.

    Combine remaining cake ingredients.

    Beat with electric mixer on high for two minutes.

    Pour into prepared pan.

    Bake for 1 hour.

    Invert on serving plate.

    Prick top of cake with with fork our use handle from small wooden spoon.

    Drizzle glaze over top of cake pouring slowly.

    For Glaze:

    Melt butter in saucepan.

    Stir in water and sugar.

    Boil 5 minutes stirring constantly.

    Remove from heat and stir in rum. NOTE: the rum will cause steam. Be careful not to burn yourself.

    Immediately wrap cake in heavy foil and let sit for 24 hours before slicing.
