Cooking Instructions
- 1
Soak urad dal overnight or for 6-7 hours. Next morning, drain out the water completely.
- 2
In a grinder jar, add the soaked dal and grind to a thick paste. The batter for vada is ready,
- 3
Transfer it in a large bowl and add in the chopped green chillies,Curry leaves chopped along with salt.
- 4
The consistency of the dal paste would be much thicker, so add a little water to make a smooth batter.

Now, take some batter in your hand and make a circular shaped vada. Repeat the procedure to make more such vadas. Flatten the vadas slightly with your hands and make a hole in the middle.
- 7
Carefully, add these vadas in the hot oil and deep fry them. Keep frying these vadas till they turn golden brown in colour. Turn off the burner
- 8
And place these deep-fried vadas on an absorbent paper to absorb the extra oil. Serve hot with sambhar and chutney.
