Not bad at all, I hardly use white salt and sugar in my cooking but I did. Next time I'll substitute.

Absolutely amazing! I made it exactly as stated and it came out great! Will probably do just 1/2 cup of sugar next time, but we'll definitely made again for my two picky eaters.

I love this salad! I substituted 1/2 c of stevia for sugar, and added a pinch of cayenne pepper to the vinegaret. Also added rough chopped parsley. Using a vegetable peeler, I put thinly sliced pieces of parmesan cheese on top. You can also use a combination of mint and parsley, topping with feta cheese. Great summer time side, to take for pot luck, or BBQ. ~(o.o)~

Awesome! Reminds me of eating cucumbers with salt, pepper and vinegar as a child though the amount of sugar seems out there. I used maybe a fourth a cup and I could taste it. I also added a clove of garlic. Nice as a salad topper as well, as opposed to more calorie heavy dressing.

I've been making my own variation of this recipe for years. My family & I love it! I've never tried it as written in the recipe & look forward to it!
My version I simply serve in place of a traditional side salad from time to time, just to change things up. In my version:
4 cucumbers
1 pkg grape tomatoes, cut into halves
2 avocado's, pitted, sliced & diced1) Combine all the above into a Med.-Large bowl, carefully combining(mixing).
2) You can chill in fridge (until reaches your desired temp/cold) or eat immediately if you prefer.
3) Salt & pepper just prior to serving- as salt draws out the water in fruits/veggies 4) Serve w/ your favorite salad dressing or eat w/ just salt & pepper is also DELISH!

Fantastic! I agree on cutting sugar, I used 1/2 cup and will probably use less next time. Hubby and 16 month old loved it!

I mix Seasoned Rice Vinegar with a little brown sugar, and pepper to taste in a bowl and pour over sliced tomatoes, onions, and cucumber, then chill. It's very good too and less ingredients. I'm sure your recipe is also good and will keep.

It's a lot better if you add a cup of mayo 2 tbs of sugar and a 1 tbs of vinegar

The salad is beautiful! I would cut the sugar completely and use balsamic vinegar for the sweetness. you could indulge more knowing the sugar is gone. Also use 1/4 cup of olive oil.

the person who adds sugar or vinergar to this salad should be banned from all kitchens.people have been making this exact salad for hundreds of years. ... nothing new. it's an oldie but a goodie. persians call it shiraz salad, and greeks have been making it even before for centuries. very popular Mediterranean salad.sugar too sweet. ne need at all. no need for vinegar.. too vinegarie.
add crumbled feta cheese and avacado and olive oil. much better, fresher and tastes cleaner and so so much betterremember keep the flavor fresh and natural
