I had to cut back on the salt and vinegar on this one. After sitting in frig, they were a little too salty and sour for me. This recipe now reflects the correct amounts. 1/3 jar of vinegar to 2/3 water. 1 heaping Tablespoon of salt to half gallon jar.

My first MIL always made these cucumbers in the summer. My favorite way to eat them is with a grilled hamburger patty and a big pile of mashed potatoes, nothing more. One of my favorite memories of her.

I forgot to say that after refrigerating them she always rinsed them in cold water to get the salt off. She also put lots of ice in them while in the frig.

I've remembered one more thing, they are best when sliced very thin.
