Ingredients

  1. 500 gmashed potatoes
  2. 250 gminced chicken/beef/lamb
  3. 2eggs
  4. 1 tablespooncilantro leaves finely chopped
  5. 3 tablespoonscooking oil
  6. Salt as per taste
  7. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspooncoriander powder
  10. 1 teaspoongaram masala powder
  11. 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  12. 1 teaspoonginger garlic paste
  13. 1small onion finely chopped
  14. 1small tomato finely chopped
  15. Bread crumbs/ Rava(sooji) for coating
  16. Oil for shallow frying

Cooking Instructions

    In a saucepan, heat 3 tablespoons of oil.

    Add in the chopped onion and sauté till translucent

  3. 3

    Add in the ginger garlic paste/minced ginger and garlic

  4. 4

    Add in the chopped tomatoes and cook till soft and mushy

  5. 5

    Add in 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1 teaspoon coriander powder, 1 teaspoon garam masala powder and salt as per taste

    Add in the chopped cilantro leaves.

    Add in the minced meat of your choice.(Here I’m using chicken)

    Add in half a cup of water if you feel it’s too dry.

    Cook till the meat is tender and done.

    The dish should be dry like this

    When done, add in a teaspoon of lemon juice and mix well.

    Beat two eggs in a bowl

    Take a small amount of mashed potato and flatten it on the palm of your hand, forming a flat disc

    Add in a tablespoon of the cooked and cooled minced meat.

  15. 15

    Form another disc out of mashed potatoes and place it over the meat.

    Secure the ends well forming a smooth cutlet.

    Dip the cutlet/potato chops in the beaten egg

  18. 18

    Coat them with bread crumbs/rava (sooji)

    Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying.

  20. 20

    When the oil is hot, carefully place the potato chops in the oil and cook for about 2 minutes on each side

    Place it on a paper napkin

  22. 22

    Serve hot as a starter or a snack

  23. 23
