Ingredients

5 servings
  1. 2 1/2 cupsThick Poha beaten rice
  2. 4Onion medium size (finely chopped)
  3. 5-6Green Chilli (finely chopped)
  4. 1/2 cupCoriander Leaves finely chopped
  5. 4-5 tbspRaw Peanuts
  6. 1Lemon cut into halves
  7. 1 tspMustard Seeds
  8. 1 tspCumin Seeds
  9. as per need\ Curry Leaves few
  10. 1/2 tspAsafoetida
  11. 1 tspTurmeric Powder
  12. 1 tspSugar
  13. as per taste Salt
  14. 3-4 tbspOil

Cooking Instructions

    First of all, take a strainer, add poha into it and wash poha twice and set it aside for about 5-10 minutes and let the water drain out completely.

    Heat oil in a kadhai.

    Add mustard and cumin seeds, let them splutter.

    Add curry leaves to it and fry for few seconds.

    Add peanuts and fry until light brown.

    Now add onion to it and saute until translucent.

    Add turmeric powder and asafoetida, saute well.

    Now add soaked poha to it and mix well. Keep the flame low.

    Add salt and give it a nice mix.

    Add sugar and fresh lemon juice and mix everything well.

    Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or until it gets steamed well.

    Switch off the gas, remove the cover, add freshly grated coconut and coriander leaves and mix.

    So the Kanda Poha is ready to be served now.
