Mexican dip! Once the prep is done, just bake it in the oven. Great for parties with tortilla chips or a relaxed dinner! The origin of this recipe: I got hooked after trying it once.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Start the prep! Cook the ground meat. You can add finely chopped onion if you like!
- 2
Add taco seasoning to the cooked ground meat.
- 3
Lightly cook the refried beans until smooth. Add a little water to make it smoother.
- 4
I used this one this time. It's not sold often, so I always buy it when I find it, haha.
- 5
Mash the avocados with a fork. Mix in lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
- 6
Mix the sour cream and cream cheese until smooth. It's easier if you take them out of the fridge a little before mixing.
- 7
Finely chop tomato, bell pepper, and onion for the salsa, if desired.
- 8
This time, I added the chopped ingredients to store-bought salsa. It adds a nice crunch. It's okay if you skip this!
- 9
Layer 1: Spread the sour cream and cream cheese evenly.
- 10
Layer 2: Add the ground meat.
- 11
Layer 3: Add the refried beans.
- 12
Layer 4: Add the avocado.
- 13
Layer 5: Add the salsa.
- 14
It looks like this from the side!
- 15
Layer 6: Add shredded lettuce.
- 16
Layer 7: Add cheese. As much as you like!
- 17
Then into the oven! Bake at 350°F (180°C) for about 20 minutes. Everything is cooked, so just melt the cheese!
- 18
Serve with tortilla chips!

I make this to eat with my Canadian husband, who grew up in a family that loved Mexican food.I wanted to make something that we could eat slowly while watching a movie or having drinks. It's really easy to make so I don't have any special hints. If you maker the layers neatly so that they are distinct, it will look great, and perfect for serving at a party. As long as you prepare it in advance, you just need to pop it in the oven when you're ready to eat.
