Ingredients

  1. 8fist dal (mix of toor, chana moong, etc)
  2. 1onion
  3. 2-3tomatoes
  4. 2-3green chilli
  5. 1.5 tspcumin
  6. 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  7. 0.5+0.25 tsp turmeric
  8. 1 tspkashmiri chilli powder
  9. 0.5 tspgaram masala
  10. 1 tbspkasuri methi
  11. 2-4 tbspcoriander
  12. Tadka
  13. 2 tbspghee
  14. 1 tspcumin seeds
  15. 2dried red chill
  16. 3-4garlic cloves chopped
  17. 0.25 tsphing
  18. 0.5 tspkashmiri chilli powder

Cooking Instructions

    Boil dal + 0.5 tsp turmeric in a pressure cooker till soft (10-15 min or 5-7 whistles). Mash it. Add water to adjust consistency while mashing. It should be liquidy

    In pot, take ghee, cumin seeds, ginger garlic paste (optional: Add 3-4 cloves). After it splutters add onion and chilies. Then add 0.25 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder, 0.5 tsp garam masala. Once onions are fried add tomatoes and salt.

    Add dal to the pan. Let it cook for 5-7 mins. Add chopped coriander and crushed kasuri methi.

    Prepare tadka with all tadka ingredients. And add to dal. Serve with rice or chapati. Side with papad and aachar.
