I substituted half and half for the buttercream and it came out just fine. I also drizzled dark chocolate on the top - divine!

Made this and it did not turn out! Baked it for one hour and it was still mush on the inside. Already pretty brown on top so I covered it and continued baking for another 40 minutes, still not done in the center!! Maybe too much buttermilk!!! Will try again with less.

Haven't had a chance to try again yet. Will try this week. What I did taste was really good! Lost my favorite recipe that I have had for over 40 years that was so good!

okay! What state do you live in? I live in Colorado so there's been plenty of times I've had to adjust the recipe because of the altitude.
