Why do some of the beans end up being crunchy? What did I do wrong.

@@cook_3600950 several things it could be. First time of salting. Add salt towards the last third of time cooking, too early salting and sometimes beans stay crunchy. 2nd beans above the water line part of the beans didn't cook all the way. Uneven heat, humidity, high altitudes, type of pot cooking in. Type of liquids to cook in, broth, water, overly oily water. Burnt or bad bean. Look them over while washing them, look and remove hardened broken beans. Hope this helps.
