This eggless butter cookies can be made in under 20 minutes. The smell of freshly baked cookies is so heavenly. Every time I bake cookies at home, it gets finished the same day. These cookies have the right amount of crunch and tastes very delicious, no more buying cookies from the store because we can make them right at home.

Ingredients

  1. 3/4cup(150g) of Butter
  2. 1 tspVanilla essence (optional)
  3. 1 pinchSalt
  4. 1/2 cuppowdered Sugar
  5. 2 cupsMaida(All Purpose Flour)

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 200˚C.

  2. 2

Cream the butter and sugar together with beater or whisk, add vanilla essence. Add Maida and combine well and make a soft dough.

  3. 3

Scrape onto a lightly floured board and knead a few times, just until the dough smooths out.

  4. 4

Turn onto a sheet of plastic wrap and roll into a log, wrap up and refrigerate for several hours or freeze.

  5. 5

Line your baking sheets with parchment. Slice the dough into slices about 1/8" thick and place them on the sheets about an inch apart (they won't be spreading very much, but they need air room around each cookie)

  6. 6

Slightly press above the cookies using fork. Bake until JUST beginning to turn golden around the edges, about 16-18 minutes.

  7. 7

    Freshly homemade cookies are ready.

  8. 8

My tips ::::: You can do many things with these cookies. You could roll the dough out and cut shapes. You could slice them even thinner and sandwich them with chocolate or jam or lemon curd. You could make them and then dip them half into chocolate. You could just make them and eat them, which is my favorite. Whatever you do, they will be delicious.
