Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Sieve the flour. Add all the ingredients, knead dough with warm water. It should not be soft.

  2. 2

Cover the dough and let it seat for 30 minutes.

  3. 3

For filling, take a bowl. Add sattu. Add jeera, ajwain, ginger, green chillies, coriander, pickle spice and lemon juice.

  4. 4

Mix well and form a crumbly mixture. Add 1 tbsp water if it is very dry.

  5. 5

To make litti, divide the dough into small balls. Take one ball and flatten between palms. With the help of fingers, expand the dough.

  6. 6

Fill the stuffing and bring all sides to the middle and seal it completely. Put some dough over it and flatten.

  7. 7

Place litti in preheated cooker. And cook it. We can also make litti in appe pan. Continue flipping it in between.

  8. 8

Roast the tomato and garlic in gas for 12-15 minutes on medium flame. Let it cool down. Peel the skin. Take it in a bowl and mash it.

  9. 9

Add this to the mashed potatoes. Add onion, ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, oil and salt. Give it a good mix.

  10. 10

Dip the hot litti in ghee and serve with chokha and spicy green coriander chutney.

  11. 11

For green chutney I used green chillies, coriander leaves, Salt, some garlic and lemon juice. I made it little spicy as litti chokha's taste is spicy.
