I just bought a brand new Masa pan... please what should I do before using it so that it will not burn the masa?

This process is called seasoning: local way is using karkashi or raw okro. Soak either if the 2 in the holes for like 30 minutes, then wipe it clean. Don't wash it.
Method 2: put oil in the holes, and let it get hot. Leave it on the fire for like 20-30 minutes, I suggest you do this outside your kitchen. Then pour the oil away and add a fresh one to fry your masa, put small masa paste in the holes incase the first batch doesn't turn out well. I assure you the second batch will turn out well.
