Omg beautiful!! I haven’t canned in about 5 years. Love a good bread and butter pickle. Does the squash stay crispy?

@sherrys_chronicles Sure it stays crispy. Not quite like a cucumber, but they taste better. Squash has a natural sweetness, that cucumbers just don't have!!

It’s true they do! Are your tomatoes coming in like the champs that they are?

@sherrys_chronicles Been toying with the idea of just pickling a few jars of onion slices. Seriously considering that.

I just had a thought. You know how they fry pickles. I bet you could make good fried onion rings with pickled onions.

Lee's @Lees
@sherrys_chronicles Intriguing idea. You could maybe, if you just cold packed them. I think if you water processed them, they probably wouldn't hold up??

With pickles you hafta blot the dry but they’re soft to begin with. I bet I could make an onion ring hold up lol

@sherrys_chronicles It's possible. We were on a pickle frying kick a few years back.

@sherrys_chronicles Years ago, I went on a deep fry, clean out the fridge night. I deep fried literally everything you could imagine. Lemons, limes, cauliflower, broccoli, etc. It was all very tasty!!

Now that’s ambitious!! I have a reallly bad habit. Fried food is my kryptonite lol

@sherrys_chronicles The lemons and limes were the first things to go. Kids went absolutely crazy over those.

I’ve seen people preserve lemons in salt then cook with them, Rinds and all. I could eat my weight in lemons

Lee's @Lees
@sherrys_chronicles That's how I fryer them. Just slices, rind and all.

I’ve heard the rinds lose their bitterness and just mellow right out. Is that true?
