I think sushi rice works best, but if you don’t have it readily available, you can use any rice!

The definition of sushi is seasoned (With vinegar salt and sugar) rice with vegetable, fish or egg garnish. As a sushi chef it pains me to see someone calling a baked casserole “sushi”

That’s awesome that you’re a sushi chef! I agree that this is nothing like real sushi at all. But it is a delicious, easy, and cheaper alternative that both kids and adults like, and I’m just happy that others have enjoyed it like my family has. Blessings to you!
