This recipe doesn't explain the recipe list very well. I made this using 7 tablespoons gelatin like the recipe says. I used 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar too. I added a .3 ounce bottle of flavour to it. They were very tough and chewy. The gelatin flavor sang right out.
The instructions on the recipe were the simple straight forward kind I can deal with. So I made them again.
4 tablespoons gelatin
1 little bottle, about 1/2 tsp flavoring oil. Adjust to your taste.
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbspoon xylitol - needed the sweet boost, not volume
1/2 cup water
These turned out very good, roll them in sugar or citric acid for a sour candy.
