just in response, wooden dowels can be purchased at Walmart or any craft store like AC Moore

Really good! I simplified the recipe and used pudding for filling instead of the cream. I mixed the pudding with whipped cream to give it a mousse-y quality. I had a bit of trouble getting the baked pastry off of the dowel rod so I wiped the rods with oil and they slid right off. Overall I really like this recipe! :positive

Brilliant idea using dowels! I got mine at Home Depot :-) and filled them with homemade sweet whipped cream. When making these in the past I used food coloring in the filling...Green for St. Patty's Day, Red-White-and Blue for 4th of July, etc. These are awesome! Thanks!
