Instant mash potatoes are optional. You can add or you don’t have to add. It’s up to you. You can do this with 4 tablespoons cornflour/corn starch with self-raising flour (a cup). Or you just can do this with just self-raising flour (a cup).

You can use 1 tsp dry mustard/mustard powder for the spice mix, too.
