Bring the broth to a boil. Season with soy sauce. Dissolve the cornstarch in water and add to the broth, stirring until slightly thickened.

Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat well. Slowly pour the eggs into the broth while stirring to create strands. Add sesame oil and stir to combine, then turn off the heat.

Ladle the egg drop soup into bowls. Garnish with ground pepper and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
