I've not been able to find hing in the supermarket. Is there anything I can use instead do you think? Or should I keep looking?

Hi Sonia, hing is asafoetida, some of the Tescos do stock them in the Asian foods aisle. But you can easily get it from the Indian grocery stores.

Hing is Asafoetida which you can get in asda, tesco as well.. I will send you picture

I googled Hing substitute, and it suggested garlic chives....?

Something different from garlic chive you can find this in supermarket like ASDA Tesco in the name of asafoetida thank you
