Hara bhara kebabs are vegetarian kebabs made of spinach, green peas, potatoes, herbs and basic spices. These pan fried hara bhara kebabs are nutritious and delicious with the goodness of greens and health.
My daughter has a strong dislike for greens, green peas and sprouted moong. So inorder to make her consume these, I made some changes in this kebab. She didn't know what went into the making of this kebab. As soon as it was ready, she ate it. She eating it means she liked it. I am happy I made her eat what she dislikes because it was the question of eating healthy. I don't mind the kebabs not looking hara like it's name.

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 cupGreen Peas (Steamed)
  2. 1/2 cupSprouted Moong (Steamed with turmeric powder and salt)
  3. 2Potatoes (Steamed)
  4. 1small Green Bell Pepper
  5. 4Long Green Chillies
  6. 2 tbspCoriander-Mint Chutney
  7. 1/2 tspGinger Powder
  8. 1 tspMango Powder
  9. 1 tspGaram Masala
  10. 2 tbspSemolina
  11. 2 tbspBread crumbs
  12. to tasteSalt
  13. as neededOil for Shallow Frying
  14. Coriander Mint Chutney Recipe:
  15. 1 cupCoriander Leaves
  16. 1 cupMint Leaves
  17. 6Green Chillies
  18. 3 ClovesGarlic
  19. 3Sambar Onions
  20. 1 tspWhite Pepper Powder
  21. 1 tspCumin Powder
  22. to tasteSalt
  23. 1 tbspLemon Juice
  24. 2 tbspYogurt

Cooking Instructions

    In a food processor, coarsely grind, the peas and sprouted moong separately and add it to a large mixing bowl.

    In a chopper, chop green chillies and green bell pepper separately and add it to the bowl. In a chopper, add steamed potatoes and add it to the bowl.

    To the bowl, add coriander-mint chutney, ginger powder, cumin powder, mango powder, garam masala, salt, semolina and breadcrumbs. Mix well to form a dough.

    Make patties with the palm of your hands. Add 1 tbsp oil to a non stick pan. When hot, gently place the patties on the pan and cook till golden brown on both sides.

    Serve hot with coriander-mint chutney.
