  2. 1/2onion
  3. 2 clovesgarlic
  4. 3 tablespoonsmirin
  5. 3 tablespoonssugar
  6. 3 tablespoonssoy sauce
  7. 4 tablespoonssake
  8. 2 tablespoonsoil
  9. Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Season the pork tenderloin with salt and pepper. Slice the garlic thinly.

  2. 2

In a bowl, mix grated onion, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce. If there are any onion pieces left, chop them finely and add them in.

  3. 3

Add oil to a frying pan and sauté the garlic until golden brown.

  4. 4

Remove the garlic and add it to the onion sauce mixture.

  5. 5

Sear the meat until browned. Be careful of oil splatter to avoid burns.

  6. 6

Once browned, add sake, cover, and steam over low heat for 10 minutes.

  7. 7

Place the cooked meat in a plastic bag, seal it, and let it sit until it cools. The residual heat will continue to cook the meat.

  8. 8

Add the contents of step 4 to the pan where the meat was cooked.

  9. 9

Simmer until it becomes amber-colored and thickens, and the onion sauce is ready.

  10. 10

Pour into a dish and let it cool.

  11. 11

Slice the cooled meat thickly, pour the onion sauce over it, and enjoy.
