If this feature "attach to recipe" is available on the iPhone you can use it to reattach the direction pictures to where they belong. And the cover picture of will come back automatically.

Is the direction pictures are still in her profile she should be able to reattach them if she has that feature is on the iPhone.

This is just a thought, log out on your account on the iPhone and re login into the account on somebody's Android phone. Then try to reattach the direction pictures and see if that works. Just an idea. ;-)
