For BBQ party, I used 50g sugar in 500ml water, much less sugar but sweet enough.

I used roasted pine nuts instead of walnuts, as I have lots of pine nuts stock. I think it went well as this tasted great. I love beetroots but have never cooked beetroot hummus. Thanks for your idea!!
