Ingredients

  1. Dry ingredients:
  2. 3 cupsfine semolina flour (about 480 grams)
  3. 1 cupall-purpose flour (about 125 grams)
  4. 2 tablespoonsturmeric
  5. 4 tablespoonspowdered milk (or substitute with almond milk powder for a plant-based option)
  6. 3 teaspoonsbaking powder
  7. 2 cupssugar (about 400 grams)
  8. Wet ingredients:
  9. 1 cupvegetable oil (about 240 ml)
  10. 2 cupswater or 2 cups almond milk (about 480 ml) as a plant-based alternative

Steps

    Add the wet ingredients to a blender and add the sugar.

  2. 2

    Blend well until the sugar dissolves.

  3. 3

    In a separate bowl, mix and sift the remaining dry ingredients (except the sugar).

  4. 4

    Gradually add the dry mixture to the blender and blend until the batter is smooth and well combined.

  5. 5

    Grease a baking pan with tahini, pour in the batter, and bake at 400°F (200°C) for 30 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
