Pesarattu/Green Gram Dosas

Pesarattu is basically a savoury pancake from the state of Andhra Pradesh. The word Pesarattu is derived from 2 words, Pesara meaning Whole Green Gram and attu meaning Dosa. Healthy and yummy, both at the same time. In fact, these are healthier than the regular dosas. The batter can be stored in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days. It does not require any fermentation either. You can use it directly after grinding to make Dosas.

Steps
- 1
Soak both Rice and the Lentils for a good 8 hours or better still overnight. Grind both the Dosa ingredients into a smooth semi thick batter at first. Stir in Salt and the other ingredients mentioned. Mix well. Spread Dosas as you normally do. Drizzle Oil or Ghee. It's your choice.
- 2
Make all in the same way and serve hot with Coconut Chutney and Pickle just as I did. Or you can serve with any Chutney of your choice. Traditionally it's served with Upma for breakfast. Enjoy!
