Ingredients

  • 250 gmsChickpea flour /besan
  • 200 gmsRice flour
  • to tasteSalt
  • as neededWater
  • as neededOil for frying
  • 1 tbspAjwain/Carom seeds

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Sieve besan and rice flour finely. Mix the flours, add salt to taste.

    Add 2tbsp heated oil and mix well till the dlourtis crumbly. This is called moin.This process helps to crisp the Omapodi.

    Add ajwain, mix the flour with Lukewarm water into a smooth dough.

    Heat Oil In A Pan for deep frying. When the oil is hot enough put the dough in a murukk.making machine press murukku into oil and fry to Golden color.

    Enjoy murukku with a hot cup of filter coffee
