A cup of tea and cake toast makes a perfect tea time snack for me and my family.
Steps
- 1
Grease a 10"baking pan with ghee, oil or butter and dust some maida all over. Remove any excess flour.
- 2
Beat the eggs and sugar till you get a creamy texture using a beater or whisk.
- 3
Add oil, milk and vanilla essence. Whisk again.
- 4
Sieve and add the maida and baking powder. Lightly mix together with a spatula. Don't use the whisk at this step.
- 5
Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake @ 180°C for 30-40 mins. Check after 30 mins by inserting a toothpick or clean knife. If knife comes out clean, it means cake is baked properly.
- 6
Let the cake sit in the oven for 10mins. Take out after 10mins and let it cool down completely.
- 7
Loosen the sides of the cake with a knife and take the cake out of the pan
- 8
Make rectangular slices or any shape and size as per your choice.
- 9
Place them on a rectangular baking tray and bake again for 30-40 mins @100°C. Flip them and bake after 20mins interval.
- 10
Enjoy with tea or milk.
- 11
All the ingredients should at room temperature.
* baking at low temperature while making toast will give crunchy texture and nice brown colour to the toast.
