Japanese Miso Scallop on Shell (North part of Japan, Aomori)

Sometimes when i buy good and fresh scallops, I make this miso Scallop. My sister in law living in Aomori makes this for breakfast. We eat this putting on rice. This year the scallops are so expensive and I can’t find big one. #GlobalApron2026

Steps
- 1
These are fresh scallops. Remove scallops from shell.
- 2
Remove the innards from scallops. Chop long onion and put it in shells.
- 3
Put miso on it. If you have bonito flake or powder, put it on scallops.
- 4
Cook shell on flame. Add miso and onion and mix. Pour egg in shell.
- 5
At last put scallop on shell. You can eat fresh or well cooked.
