Dissolve the activated charcoal powder in 90% of the water. Use the remaining 10% of the water to dissolve the yeast. In a bowl, add the flour and the charcoal water, mix lightly, and let it sit for 5 minutes. Add the yeast mixture. When bubbles start to form, add the salt and 4 tablespoons of olive oil.

Knead until you have a smooth dough. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour. Let it rest for 10 minutes, then fold the dough from the outside in, wetting your hands as needed. Let it rise until doubled in size.

Once risen, sprinkle some semolina on your work surface and divide the dough into two equal pieces. Fold each piece gently to keep the air inside, then cover with a kitchen towel for about 20 minutes. Take a 13-inch (33 cm) round baking pan, flatten the first dough ball with your fingers (without pressing out the air) to form an even disk, and place it in the pan.

Layer the cooked ham and thin slices of cheese on top.

Cover with the second piece of dough, flattened as before. Seal the edges well, drizzle a couple of rounds of olive oil on top and spread it with your hands. Make a hole in the center for steam to escape. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C), on the lower rack, for about 30 minutes.

Let cool on a wire rack, then slice as you like. It looks beautiful and tastes amazing.
