Perfect Horseradish Sauce -if you spend all that money on steak and smoked salmon why Store bought ?

You probably walk past the horseradish root in you local supermarket or groccery store without even noticing it. Looks a bit like a turnip :P anyways - just buy one and make your own sauce and the flavours are so much better than the stuff you buy in a jar. can store in fridge for about 2-3 months - not that it ever lasts that long. ENJOY :P

Steps

5 mins
  1. 1

Put the Root in some warm water for 5 mins - this just softens the tough skin so easier to peel

  2. 2

Pat dry and peel. I find it easiest laying the root on a chopping board and sraping the peeler down its lenght.

  3. 3

Use a food processor (you can buy hand but it is worse than peeling onions) and Great the root. Transfer to a bowl and then add the chopping blade.

  4. 4

Add a splash of water (about 1-2 Tbsp) and pulse until fien shopped. The Finer the more spicy. Let it still for at least 2 min or upto 10 mins again the longer the more spicy.

  5. 5

Add vinegar and salt and pulse to combine. You can now put into a jar until ready to use.

  6. 6

Mix Root, cream cheese and cream in a bowl and blend together - taste to season with a little more salt if needed. I make about half at a time (so half the sour cream etc) and use it all before making more :P ENJOY :P
