
Holiday Cornbread Dressing

Melt butter or heat olive oil in dutch oven, depending which you prefer to use.

Add celery and onion to pot. Sauté until tender.

Add chicken broth, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 min, or longer if you have the time.

While broth is simmering, prepare cornbread amd white bread in large baking dish. This depends on the texture you prefer. You can leave the bread in large cubes, or break it all down with your hands. I prefer to break mine down some.

Once you are satisfied with your broth mix and bread mix, pour broth mix over bread, slowly combining. You may not use the entire broth mix. Some prefer wet dressing, while others prefer a dryer dressing. It's all up to you! I'm looking for the perfect balance.

Now that everything is combined, move baking dish into 350°F oven until browned on top.
