I learned Culinary Arts when I was in high school between 2009 to 2012, but I've rarely done any cooking at my home. But then a few years later, I started to feel a little self-conscious about my weight gain and wanted to find foods and drinks that would help me lose some weight. But I was unsuccessful until I had fallen in love with my ex-boyfriend from Uganda and I started to become obsessed with learning all about Africa and more specifically Uganda. Then I found and bought a Flavors of Africa cookbook by Evi Aki figuring that I could use this to both lose weight and try African dishes for my first time. I've only gotten around to my mother making Dodo (Fried Plantains) for me to try though, which I thought were delicious and tasted like candy. Now that I'm in a more serious relationship with my current Ugandan lover, I'm hoping to become the best cook I can be for him and our future family together.
